It can seem daunting - the idea of commissioning work rather than buying straight off the shelf - but the commissioning process is usually quite straightforward. The ability to order a customised item from a maker is what sets us apart from those who only have work manufactured for them.

If you want to order a scarf 1.5 or 2.5 metres long instead of the standard 2 metre length - no problem! If you love a particular design and want it knitted in turquoise and yellow - no problem… you get the idea.
As a maker, hand-crafting everything from my home studio, I can easily create one-off pieces to give you something unique to you and your style.

GET STARTED
The first step for any commission is for you to give me the basic outline of what you are looking for. I ask you to complete a bespoke order form so that I have all the information I need to get the conversation started. I will then get in touch with you to either confirm your order, if you know exactly what you want, or discuss your options if you’re unsure or need my help and advice.

SIMPLE OPTION
The simplest bespoke order is for you to select a design from the current or archive collections and tailor it to you by:
a) providing your personal colour choices;
b) stating your preferred size - either standard or bespoke;
c) selecting individual colour trims if relevant to the product.

There is no additional charge for this type of order unless you request a colour (or yarns) I do not normally hold in stock or if the size you want is very different from the standard sizes I make.

MORSE DESIGN
This archive design can be adapted to show someone’s name or a club name in Morse Code and comes with a personalised label showing the Morse Code for the name. It’s a great way to buy someone a unique gift. Who doesn’t want a scarf with their name on it…literally?
A fee of £10 is charged to cover the cost of design time, create a unique punchcard and print a personalised label.

SPORT DESIGNS
You can order any of the sport designs (Golf Ball, Golf Tee, Rugby, Ski or Tennis) in your club colours.

SIZE
Knitted products can be ordered in smaller or larger versions of the standard sizes. Price will vary depending on the size required.

UNIQUE DESIGNS
For a more complex design or one unique to you I would phone you as soon as I receive the bespoke order form. By having a conversation with you we can discuss exactly what you want, possible options, budget and timescale. The ideas would be confirmed by email and a 50% deposit requested before design work is started. The deposit is refundable against the final piece of work unless the client cancels before completion.
I will ensure clients are updated at every stage of the commission to ensure they are happy before proceeding. In general, the more complex the commission the longer the consultation process and the more samples and detailed images are sent for approval at key stages.
Full payment will be required before the commission is delivered.

CONFIRMATION
All bespoke orders will be confirmed by email.
If a colour swatch is required for a simple order this will require a £10 deposit that can be redeemed against the final cost of the commission.
Once the final design is approved and the order placed it cannot be refunded.
