During lockdown I really missed meeting customers in person to chat about my work and life in general. I also missed seeing my network of maker colleagues to chat about events and opportunities and of course browse or buy their new work.

As more and more events move online it can be hard for customers or potential clients to buy or commission work if they haven't met the maker or artist, or seen and touched their work to judge the quality, feel and finish for themselves.

I therefore launched this initiative to support my fellow makers who have suffered a loss of social and economic livelihoods due to the coronavirus pandemic causing cancellation of fairs, events, workshops etc and are proactively adapting their practices. As it looks like there will be no meaningful events for the foreseeable future, makers are finding new ways of working and are learning new tech skills while improving or building new online shops.
