National Library of Scotland • 2019
I really enjoyed working on this commission for the National Library of Scotland - adapting an Encyclopaedia Britannica endpaper image to create a repeat pattern punchcard for knitting fabric suitable for scarves. The endpaper is from a modern edition, commemorating its origin 250 years ago and the scarf design was commissioned to coincide with the library’s annual appeal celebrating 250 years of Britannica. Initially starting with a collection of six colour combinations for sale in the library shop, this soon expanded to include a wider range of colours to satisfy both Edinburgh locals and tourists. You can order this design in your ideal size and colour direct from me.
